Rolling Hills 2

I'm doing this post while watching footage of the horrific scenes at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. As a keen runner these bomb explosions at such a wonderful running event has particular significance.

Had a wonderful weekend in Napier with Lea, Bianca and Caitlyn. We spent time with Lea's mum, her brother and family.

On returning home Sunday afternoon we looked through some Open Homes. Here is a link to one of the houses we were particularly interested in. Only concern is that the advertised 4 bedrooms is really only 3.

On my previous blog I did a sequel to Rolling Hills about my early life so here it is. Thank you to my followers who commented on my last post.

Continuing the theme of music in the Forster family during our growing up years! When I was 11 and my sister Margaret was 8 my mum made a decision that I am extremely thankful for! She thought it was important that she had a professional recording done of us for posterity sake. Now on listening to these recordings I have a real appreciation of the gift that Margaret and I had. I am really happy to be able to share these sound clips. Would love to have some feedback! I am personally in awe of how Margaret and I could at such a young age put difficult harmonies together in such a true fashion! The last sound clip is the only sound clip I have of my mum. It was done unofficially in the Mayfair Theatre and unfortunately the sound quality is not great!

  1. Reading of the Boston bombings, my heart was in my mouth...who could do such a thing? I just don't understand the mindset.
    The house? Room for visitors?

  3. Yours is the 2nd blog where I read about the Boston bombings. When I was watching the news on telly last night (8.00 pm German time), there was no mention of it, so I guess it must have happened afterwards.

  4. Gosh, Paul, your mother had a wonderful voice, and your sister too. I'm so pleased you gave us the links so that we could listen. Thank you.

I heard the news about the bombings this morning. I cannot understand what drives people to do such horrific things. My prayers go out to the injured and the families of those lost.

  6. Oh my word, you were/are so talented! How wise of your mum to get these recordings made. What precious mementos they are. And what a FANTASTIC job by you and your sister on Dream Seller. I love the bits of counterpoint (if that's the right word).

How is the therapy going? Are you hanging in there?

  7. I hope things are going well for you.

I loved the songs - especially the first and second. Real talent from both of you. How great to have recordings of those days.

  11. Yes, the Boston bombing was such a terrible thing and I can understand it hitting you even harder. I can't understand how somebody can do that to innocent people.

Love the look of the possible new house!
