On Holiday

After a hectic term it is wonderful to be on holiday. Lea says I need to look up the definition of holiday as I have been keeping myself rather busy with weeding the front and back lawns. A change is as good as a holiday I suppose!

Last weekend I caught up with Alice after 2 months in the army and Kate down for a short break from her studies.

I am extremely proud of my two daughters as I suppose all dads are of their children!

Alice is going really well and whipping the boys' butts. She has received a special award for her physical prowess, mainly running. Only 2 boys beat her in cross country in their recent running challenge. http://www.defencecareers.mil.nz/army/army-life/education-training/basic-training

Kate continues to work hard and is getting great results. Recently she competed in a 5 km [3 mile]race where she finished third girl in 19:40! Faster than her old man at the moment.

Off to physio shortly and will come back and make comments! Hope all is well in the blogging world. Time to take a proper holiday and do some activities I enjoy like blogging!

  3. Taking a holiday at home is something I call a "staycation" and I enjoy getting so many things accomplished when I do that...however, it's also nice to getaway and see new sights and leave stresses behind! Enjoy your vacation! (holiday!) Congrats to your girls on all their accomplishments!

  4. Congratulations on Kate's fantastic result!
Weeding the lawns may not be everyone's idea of a holiday, but it certainly does make a difference to your normal work, and as you say, change in itself is a holiday.

  7. Hey Paul! Change is as good as a holiday ~ especially from teaching. Just being able to set your schedule and to be able to go to the bathroom when you want is so great! I can see why you are proud of your girls! I love to see the gals beat the guys at their own game ~ so go Alice. And I am in awe of someone running a 5K ~ congrats to Kate. Enjoy the rest of your break ~ and do whatever you want!

  9. I know you love exercise but I hope you are taking some time to play your guitar too!
Everyone does this, when you have time off, you feel you have so many chores to do rather than taking the time to do what gives you joy! We can always try for a bit of both.
    Take care.
